There have been a number of times that I've been asked, "What kind of personal injury cases do you handle?"  My response would be, "Serious Personal Injury cases, frequently resulting in catastrophic injury or catastrophic injuries, sometimes resulting in wrongful death."

To help potential clients understand what these terms mean, I've created a list to help people get a good idea of the kinds of accidents, injuries and cases I'm talking about.

Vehicular Accidents which have resulted in significant personal injury or death.  This includes:
Motor-vehicle, automobile or Car Accidents; Motorcycle Accidents; Boat Accidents; Truck Accidents

Transportation or Common-carrier accidents that have resulted in serious personal injury or death:
Railroad Accidents; Train Accidents; Airplane Accidents; Aviation Accidents; Trucking Accidents; Highway Design Flaw Cases

Medical Cases resulting in serious injury or death, including:
Medical Malpractice; Birth Injury; Nursing Home Malpractice; Nursing Home Accidents; Nursing Home Abuse

Pedestrian Accidents that have resulted in injury or death, including:
Pedestrian - Car Accidents; Slip and Fall Accidents; Trip & Fall Accidents; Bicycle Accidents

Animal Attacks, Dog Bites

Toxic Chemical Exposure

Product Liability cases, including:
Defective Products; Food Poisoning

Construction Accidents

Custodial care or responsibility cases, including:
Sexual Abuse Cases; Foster Care Abuse; Negligent Supervision

What is, Serious Personal Injury or Catastropic Injury?  Typically, we're speaking about injuries that aren't easily healed or repaired - injuries that can last a lifetime and cause significant pain.  Catastropic injuries could include traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, disfigurement and burns.  Serious injuries could include fractures, soft-tissue injuries, mental-health related injuries, and less-significant burns.  Fatal injuries are those that result in the death of the injured person.
